Gay Christian Network Talks to Straight Christians

The Gay Christian Network recently posted a video about its study of straight Christians' attitudes toward gays. What they found was unfortunate but not surprising. We still have a lot of work to do.

  1. I will never understand why some women and gays are Christians. It is beyond me, as the Bible explicitly is biased and its not in their favor.

    1. Christian -- Whatever their reasons for staying in the faith, I'm relieved that some of them are trying to enlighten their faith communities. I'd rather be around Christians who reject sexism and homophobia than Christians who cling to them.

    2. I agree with you that is the more important issue.

@Sherry I agree the versus are misunderstood but that is pretty much the big problem as well. The bible is a work of fiction not a book of moral lesson.

  2. they wish it were so, so of course, that's close enough. And Christian, actually the bible is not really against gays at all. The very few passages that seem to be about gays are highly misunderstood and should never be used to claim that God doesn't like gay. These like many other such passages, cannot be read literally.

    1. Sherry -- I wonder how long it will take for them to realize that sexual orientation isn't mutable, and that LGBTQ people deserve a place in society.
