  1. Regarding the SPLC Hatewatch piece. That group Cleon Skousen founded used to be based near BYU where Skousen also taught religion. Skousen also taught classes on the Constitution that were billed as "separate" from BYU and held in a rented store front right off campus. In those days ('70's and 80's) the classes seemed to focus on the elimination of labor unions. Skousen called them "secret combinations," a term from the Book of Mormon. I'm surprised the organization still exists. (I suppose I shouldn't be.) But now I'm curious and will have to look into it.

    Thanks for the commentary!

  3. The link to Think Progress re. Santorum took me to Blogger ... That's truly sick though. There is something fundamentally wrong with people who value a fetus growing inside of a woman -without her consent - more than the woman. It sends a clear and strong message that that the only thing of value in a woman is her uterus. I was also both sickened and disheartened to hear similar rhetoric devaluing women during the first Republican presidential debate a few days ago.

I did not know about the background re. the group founded by Cleon Skousen. Interesting and, as Donna said, not surprising.

  5. I have a better idea ... let's charge Mr. Santorum for daring to exist! He's a crime!
